WARNING!!! PRINCE SULTAN UNIVERSITY CONTRACTS

This post is intended to guide future teachers at PSU in Riyadh and is written to open the eyes of everyone going there. Seems that they keep deleting posts. One thing is true: my experience with them. I can assure you that I have signed a contract with them in May2011 (I can post it online if that's the case) and that they didn't bring me to work. They sign contracts with many people and there was no job waiting for me. They made me apply for a visa and pay the costs, but while I was in the process of obtaining the visa they hired someone else. They refrain from assuming responsabilities and they laughed at me when I contacted them in Arabic, hanging up. Their worker Tony Lapid is an unsensitive person taking decisions regarding contracting even though he isn't a lawyer and even though I haven't signed a contract with him.
This is their last email:

Dear Ms DIANA,

This is with reference to your status regarding your joining Prince Sultan University. Please be advised, the Rector, Dr. Ahmed Yamani has been advised in details regarding your visa status processing, the email exchanges & telephone calls between you and Mr. Tony Lapid, PSU Officer-in-Charge of Recruiting and Senior Administrator in the Office of the Rector; with Dr. Connie Mitchell, Chairperson of the English Department of the College for Women… and particularly your recent telephone calls with some PSU senior executives who have nothing to do with the hiring process nor regarding visa processing. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. In this regard, therefore, Dr. Yamani’s response to your situation is as follows:

“We regret to inform you that you will no longer be considered for any future hiring possibilities due to the manner you have shown during the whole process, in spite of formal communication from concerned executives…that you cannot join PSU, neither for the current Semester nor for the 2nd Semester of the Current Academic Year 2011 / 2012.

This decision is in line with the Employment Contract that you and the undersigned have signed… (Please refer to Term 3. Contract Duration, Item B. to quote:

‘In the event of substantial and unauthorized delay in reporting of over 3 days, the First Party reserves the right to terminate this contract.’

Item C. ‘ The Contract will be effective from the date of joining of the second party at the university’.

In this regard, therefore, this will be our FINAL COMMUNICATION AND OFFICIAL ADVICE. You are therefore advised to desist from any further communication (written or otherwise) with any PSU executives and/or Senior Administrators.”

We wish you luck in your future endeavors.

Our regards,

Dr. Ahmed Yamani

Rector

Prince Sultan University

Attention: Mr. Abdulaziz Al Obaid, Director of Faculty & Personnel Affairs and Mr. Latif Tufail, Senior Personnel Administrator – This is for your necessary action regardi
